FLIGHTS OF FANCY

Ashraf El Hady

Is it cheating to be a surreal artist when the world around you is an archetype of surrealism? Not if you ask Egyptian artist Ashraf El-Hady. Paining for over twenty years, both in his native country during more prosperous times and internationally inartistic meccas throughout Italy, El Hady has been making a name for himself with compositions that marries the physical with the psychological.

With complex compositions, El Hady engages humanity via disconnecting the human body, injecting themes that society and individuals encounter intrinsically, masked under a veiled colorful warmth.  His work appears like a storm of brilliance immersed in both darkness and light. For nearly twenty years, El-Hady has created a world where surrealism exists independently, but never in spite of surroundings. His works can currently be found in galleries throughout Egypt and Europe.
